Soperton...A
Place to Call Home
The
population of a small town--Soperton is no exception--is
loaded with natives, people who were born into a family
unit with deep roots. Then there are others who pay
the community the supreme compliment of selecting
it as a place to live. When choosing a place to call
home, people consider a number of factors. They look
at the economic environment, the education system,
the housing situation; and on the basis of these and
other rather sterile variables, they make a decision
to live in a certain area. But whether that place
is to become "home" can only be determined
with time. Time and again, what
the citizens of Treutlen County cite as its greatest
assets are intangible. People
consistently use words like "peaceful,"
"quiet," and "Christian" to describe
this community. We
asked some citizens of Treutlen County to share what
makes this small middle Georgia county home.
